Default 02 Parasitic Draw - Update

Just wanted to bring folks up to speed with the results of the parasitic draw problem I had.
In the previous post Lion PT was correct in his stating a bad MFS will still allow for a draw in power EVEN IF the fuse is pulled.
Here' what I did:
I used this as a guide: for disassembly

How to Repair the Multifunction Switch w/ Pictures (Fog Lights)

I followed this carefully using his soda can technique and:
-- took more pictures as I disassembled the final pieces to get to the worn pieces
- used Devco plastic welder as it too adheres to metal and plastic and this sets up rock hard in "15 minutes"
His technique and explaination "EXCELLENT"

MF switched repair

I replaced the fuse and deliberately did not start the PT for 2 days.
WOW, no diminishing of voltage over those days and it started!

Before (for years) with the fuse pulled the car wouldn't start after the second day.

Thanks for the time and those links PT Guys.

In my younger years I would have torn apart & repaired like you did...
Now it's harder to see & focus on the small things, these days I would have just replaced the switch.

Good to know it all worked out...

Same here, plus I was more strapped for money when I was younger...
