Default PT in shop

I've been getting check engine light for a couple weeks now. Took it into the shop and the code is fuel recirulation problem. Tech say the gasket between fuel pump and gas tank is leaking as the pump is installed in the tank.
Anyone else ever have this problem?
Thanks

Blade,

That exact gasket was the reason for the first/maybe second recall of the PT Cruiser. Supposedly it leaked if the cruiser turned upside down in an accident. A bunch of us were called in to have a new gasket put in and for a "tie-wrap" to be put on the fuel line in the engine compartment so the line wouldn't rub on the air-conditioning line and cause a fire. It only takes about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes for a competent mechanic to put a new gasket on. Some were told they had to pay for the extra time spent (even though it was a free recall) if they had dual exhaust put on as it would take a lot longer to drop the tank to install the gasket.
