Default Transmission filter Installation Question

Changed my transmission fluid and filter this weekend, but really struggled with getting the filter to stay in place while re-installing the pan. In videos I've seen it looks like the filter is supposed to "lock" into the base of the transmission with the two plastic pins and O-Ring friction. Mine never, or barely held on, and would fall at the slightest touch. Even purchased a second filter thinking the pins on the first must be faulty, but it didn't make a difference. Is there a trick to mounting the filter without having to double-up on the blood pressure meds?

Think it finally all lined up and I'm hoping the pan itself will now keep filter from moving. Am I making a rookie mistake?

I like to put new transmission fluid on the O-ring that goes on the filter to help it slide in easier. I can't remember exactly how many nipples were on the filter but once you line them up with the holes, they'll snap in. Double check to make sure you have the right filter if it's not going in.

When I changed mine the filter sort of snapped up and stayed there... Remember how much it took to pull it off?
