Magnecore wires were about $65 the plugs were $5.80 each and the coil was $69.95. Shipping costs vary from planet to planet. Best money I have spent yet on the PT. OH, my MPG increased by almost 2 MPG. I had been averaging 23.21mpg before the plugs, wires and coil. After, I have averaged 25.13mpg. I dirve 270 miles every day during the week and (being an engineer and anal) keep very detailed records on miles driven, fuel used, MPG and cost of fuel. I have records all the way back to when the cruiser had only 7 miles on it. 7 months later, I now have 30,350 miles on her. Still love the car too.

Do plugs, wires, and new coil really make a difference performance wise? I have 10K on my Touring Ed. PT, would it be adviseable to change out the plugs, wires, and coil?

Spark plugs and wires would probably be the minimum to get or return to better overall drivability. The stock wires, by some estimates, has over 3240 ohms of resistance, and often fail or wear out quickly. Aftermarket spark plug wires and using double platinum spark plugs should give you miles of trouble free performance and reliability. Changing the coil is up to you. Has I mentioned before in another thread, many of my buddies have been using a smaller spark plug gap, from .040 to .045 (stock is .050), and have experience better engine response/overall drivability and eliminated the slight hesitation on acceleration from a stop. There is another post about a TSB that changes the gap to .040 and specifying a newly designed replacement stock spark plug to solve the cold start fouling of the plugs.

I had my GT High output turbo p to 125 while racing some vette on an open stretch of 95 the other night...the limiter was supposed to stop me at 120 but it didnt kick in I guess. Either way, the car handles fine at those speeds. You guys need to learn to drive.

And yeah, the Vette won. But I kept with him

The speed limiter on the GT should be set for 128. 3BarBoost indicated that above 130 the aerodynamics on the PT get squirrelly with excessive rear end lift.
