I have another no oboe question....
I have the Amber ABS dash light on all the time... Which is kind of odd, as according to my VIN, my cruiser doesn't have ABS brakes! Has anyone ever run into this, at all? Thanks again! Alynn

![]() For the OP, does your PT have this under the master cylinder? You may need a flash light to see it. ![]() PS: If it has ABS, you may need a OBDII scanner that reads ABS in order to root out the issue. But many folks end up just having a bad wheel sensor or broken sensor line. Inspecting the lines and cleaning all four sensors is often a good thing to try first.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There is no Traction control button..... I just saw the question about the ABS pump. I'll have to check it tomorrow after work, and will report back! I am going to replace the ignition lock cylinder this weekend (my other thread....), would replacing that clear the ABS dash light? My Parking brake light also won't clear... Thanks, agiain, and this is a fun place to "learn things"! Alynn

I would suggest checking the switches for the brake and the emergency brake to see if they are working properly.

Handy, I don't see an ABS pump under the master cylinder. ( Stupid Question Alert...- The brake fluid resovoir sits on top of the master cylinder right? ~~insert embarrassed smiley here ~~
Thanks! Steve: will be checking those switches tomorrow and will report back! Thanks for all the great help! Alynn

Update----
I looked at the parking brake switch, and the copper parts look rusty, like something spilled on it. Will have to order as Auto Zone doesn't stock it. Question, though... Does the wire side only connect to the switch with one connector? I should have taken a photo when I had the seat out.....????? I will replace it and then go from there... Unless there are other ideas... Thanks, Alynn

I took "Pixie" in to my local tire shop to have the parking brake checked, to see if it is stuck. The Good News? Not Stuck! Yay!
Bad News? 1 Leaking rear cylinder, 2 rear rotors out of round and 1 front (left) bad wheel bearing!! However, I did confirm - NO ABS! So, on Saturday, I will be pulling off the knuckle, taking it, and a new bearing into the local shop to have the old one removed and the new one pressed in, and then putting it all back together. I need to pick up an axle nut socket, ( don't have one that size), and a set of crowfoot sockets, for torquing the tie rod, and the bearing. I've done a lot of research, including this thread from 2014, Is this mechanic an idiot?... or am I missing something. And I found it quite interesting, that in my Googling, I found the same video as in that tread, and it explains the procedure vey well. Please wish me luck. I'm trying to learn to take care of as much as I can. It's fun, as well as saving a buch of money. Quote for rear brakes, and front wheel bearing was over 800.00. I will be taking care of the rear brake issues after my next paycheck (and buying groceries!!!) After rear brakes: wires, plugs and valve cover gasket and oil change..... Do you all think this is doable, by a 50+ year old lady hippie??? Thanks again! Alynn ![]()
