Default blow off valve

Has anybody put a Blow Off Valve on their Turbo PT? If yes...What brand and how was the result?

Quite a few have installed the Mopar BOV, me included. It really isn't much as far as performance enhancement (let's be truthful now guys) but is does sound cool for about 60 bucks.

The most inexpensive way to go would be to put the MOPAR blow off valve kit on. Many on this site have put this on their GTs. I personally have a HKS SSBOV on my GT. I got it before the Mopar kit was available. The Mopar kit is every bit as good as any aftermarket BOV at a fraction of the cost, and except for one bolt that is hard to get at, its easy to install...

Here is a pic of the HKS SSBOV installed on my cruiser

Very cool, thanks guys.

I was lookin into the Mopar bov, but I wasn't sure if it would give the same sound as an aftermarket. I wasn't really lookin to get any performance out of it...haha..
But, This is my first manual turbo car and I figured the BOV would be kinda fun.

actually, the "bov" from mopar performance is just a diverter plate. it takes the compressed charge that would be recirculated and directs that charge and vents it to the atmosphere. it is not really a valve. no spring, no housing---just a metal plate with a hole in it. that is why there is no performance gain. but it does sound bitchin'.

Actually we have a factory BOV stock that is a recirculating BOV. The Mopar plate just redirects it to the atmosphere instead of back to the intake tract.

An install hint from the SRT forum is to use a little rtv on the gasket. Someone there has reported a slight loss of boost. I have not seen a problem but better safe than sorry.

All works the same. It's a sandwiched plate that vent the air to atmosphere.
