I recommend the Bassini exhaust over the Borla. Better sounding and more horsepower increase on the Dyno! Great system and easy to install.

Which is the quietest? I am toying with the idea of a cat-back but don't want my Cruiser to sound like a bumble-bee on crack! There's nothing much more irritating than some rice-burner with a coffee can fart pipe winding out past me!!
The Borla's I've heard on LT1 applications seemed fairly quiet but have not heard any PT exhaust systems yet. |

"rice-burner with a coffee can fart pipe winding out past me" - a great decription and funny as hell!

Hehe... Precisely why I don't wanna sound like one! Y'know what I mean?
Broached the subject of new exhaust with wife.mil tonight and she got rather hostile... :-( |

We have a Borla 2 1/4" system on our cruiser, and we're quite happy with it. The power increase isn't all that huge, but it's noticeable. Especially in the mid to upper rev range. It's definitely a little louder inside the car, but having been involve in racing for years, I don't find it intrusive, nor does my wife. The exhaust note is pleasant. More of a deeper burble than a raspy growl. Granted it's not that nice throaty V-8 rumble we'd all like, but hey, it IS a twin cam 4 banger after all. Installation was a breeze. It fit perfectly to the stock mounting points, and went together very easily. The hardest part of the job was getting the stock unit off. That took nearly 2 hours!! The new piece was on, tightened, warmed and retightened in half an hour. BTW if anyone's interested in a nearly new stock system, (under 2000 miles on it) make me an offer!!!

The Bassani Single system is the way to go. It has the best performance gain, and it has a removable baffle in the tail pipe so you can make loud or quiet. With the baffle in, the noise is hardly noticeable inside the car. Check them out at http://www.raceandstreet.com

Bill i disagree with you. I bought A Baasani single from you it quite a bit louder than stock but it sounds good. You will notice more noise inside but not that bad. I do agree with Bill Bassani is they way to go.
