I took my new Gt turbo 5 speed to the dealer two days ago, and they said nothing can be done about this problem. when shifting inbewteen gears the rpm's linger in high range. problem has to be corrected in the chip. dealer can't mess with it/ even the chrylser rep drove mine along with another turbo 5 speed from lot, he agrees..looking for feedback anyone with a turbo 5 speed/ thanks turbomangt

I noticed this with my PTGT 5, gearing up its not a problem, though noticable, cuz the r's stay up for the turbo to still be ingaged ( come to think of it this might be why...no drop in r's banging through gears). I don't no if gearing down with the r's up, this too is very noticable, is because the turbo is spinning down...not an engineer, might be part of cooling process...spinning the turbo engaged with no stress on it

This won't help your problem but one reason why the chip holds rpms up is to insure generous oil supply to turbo while it's wound. Gives bean counters peace of mind with 7/70.

Since I posted this I have talked to many tech people and I guess the Turbo system is designed to stay wound up in the high range during shifting. I drove a manual non-turbo pt the other day and when I pushed down the clutch and engine RPM's fell so fast I thought the engine died out (that's what I was talking about) when I push down my clutch, the rpm's "hang" in there. I can't get used to that. someone gave me a tip on shifting turbo's, they said to take your foot off accelerator a little earlier prior to engaging clutch, better but not perfect. I guess if I wanted perfect I should of bought a Ferrarri.

sounds like you have to shift it like your racing all the time
