Default Engine missing on 2 cylinders

2003 Turbo GT model. A/C. 89,000 miles. Car is in shop now. Mechanic replaced Plugs, Wires, Coil. Scan code P02305, Secondary of coil not working (1 and 4 ?). Tried two new coils.

Cold engine starts/runs normal but can be made to fail on 2 cylinders by flooring the accelerator hard. Turning the key off and restarting "resets something" and engine will idle "normal". Don't know for how long.

After engine is warmed up it will fail when under load or going up a hill (without flooring accelerator). If the engine is not too hot, it can be reset back to normal again by turning the key off and restarting.

When engine is hot it can fail under slight load, A/C on or off no difference.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

i believe there are three wires to the coil. one of the three is for 1 and 4, that is where i would begin troubleshooting. it should be a dark blue wire with a tan stripe.

i would check that one wire for continuity from the PCM to the coil while wiggling the wires around. it should be a simple fix once you find it. usually if a wire is broken internally, it is broken right at the connector.

P02305

Possible Causes:

Cylinder No. 2 spark plug or wire is damaged or it has failed
Ignition Coil No. 2 is damaged or it has failed
Ignition coil control circuit is open or shorted to ground
ASD relay output circuit problems
PCM has failed

As Rob342 posted to check for ignition coil control circuit and see if its open.

when you unplug the connector and plug it back in to the coil, every once in a while the pins on the connector will pushed the pin inside the connector/plug making contact for a few days and then started to lose connectivity.

Tried all the suggestions and we're left with the PCM. Hope this works. Looking for a working used one. Will post results but may take a while since haven't found one yet.

IF your ignition key has the grey head on it, you have factory security which incorporates, the key, SKIM module and PCM that have tp be programmed together to work. Without the programming the car will start three times for a second or two and shut down. The little round red light will come on on the dash and you will be locked out until the pieces are reprogrammed or you reinstall the original PCM.

Wow, had no idea about that. My key head is grey . Door opener is black. Do you know where I might go to get all the pieces programed to work together? Thanks for the tip off.

is the engine trouble code P02305 the only code that comes up each time?
