Default Help with oil leak - '05 PT

Hello all,

New member here - have owned my '05 PT since '09.

The engine has a bad oil leak. The oil is pooling up behind the engine on the drivers side. I've attached a pic to show where - this was taken after I soaked up the oil. There is a hose highlighted in the picture that appears to have some sort of patch on it - I'm wondering if that's the problem? Does that hose go to the oil pressure sending unit?

Please let me know if I can provide more details. Any help appreciated - thank you!

The valve cover gasket replace job isn't too bad. You have to remove the upper intake manifold (a minor pain with EGR on my model) and unbolt the PS reservoir to get room to lift off valve cover. My biggest grip with the job was how expensive that gasket (and the 4 spark plug hole gaskets) was.

Cheers!
