Default Fog light conversion?

I found a PT at the local Pick-n-Save with a full fog light system and wondered about installing on my wife's 2007 PT.

Is the steering column signal/light switch plug and play and will the fog light pigtails plug into the existing wiring harness?

Thanks for any help...

There might not be an on board fog light circuitry on your later model PT.

To check if there is, remove the cover behind the steering wheel. Pull the large plug from the MFS and jump #13 and 14 slots with jumper or tester. If you find 12V power or get an arc this is the 12V power that supplies the fog lights. The fog light icon should glow on your left dash roundrel. I doubt it'll show power as you'd also have to have the additional circuitry to the fog light sockets. There are corresponding fuses needed in your dash fuse box and in the under hood fuse box behind and below the air filter.

Additionally, if the circuitry is on board your PT, those found pig tail socket pig tails should find a home attached to the proper wires. I'm not at all that sure your MFS would serve the fog lights. You might have to go to an earlier model MFS.

If your PT isn't originally wired for fog lights you can install the needed wiring for the fog lights and refer to a great thread on installing an activation switch in the ciggy lighter hole. It was written up by sanatanadharma. Good luck.

Unless her 2007 is a base model, it should come with all the wiring.
You will have to replace the MFS to one that has the flog light button & have to go to the dealer to have the PCM flashed to turn them on...if you want them stock.
You could also run a separate switch for power to bypass the computer, but 2006 & above use the CANbus system & it might not be wise to start splicing in wires...JMO

Amazon sells a complete kit also 06-10 Chrysler Pt Cruiser Fog light lights kit NEW OEM
