Default 2002 PT Cruiser stalls and bucks

Hello everyone , I have a 2002 Cruiser Limited Edition that has 139,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop the past few weeks and the mechanics just cant seem to fix the problem. The symptoms are that the car dies when idling , more so in the morning and when the car has sat for a long period of time like during my work schedule and the car always starts right back , once you drive the car for awhile these conditions stop and its fine. When driving at times the car starts to buck and shake and lunge , giving it gas or getting off the gas usually stops this from happening , sometimes it acts like you have placed your hands over your vacuum cleaner hose, sometimes you feel a slight bump from the engine and the headlights blink very quickly. The car does not code when this happens and the diagnostic computer shows nothing. The mechanics have replaced and or checked the plug wires , plugs , coil pack, cam sensor , crank sensor , throttle ,ignition switch , anti theft tested fine as well, the fuel pump and fuel pressure along with the battery. All this and the car just continues to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions or have encountered a similar problem as this ? I'm at a loss as to what to do next any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

The fact that the lights blink leads me to believe you have a short in the electrical system, probably in or near the PDC (Power Distribution Center) also known as the fuse box in the engine compartment but wouldn't rule out the interior fuse block by your left knee. Some owners have found by closely examining the wiring harness to either of these fuse boxes that wires are frayed or burnt causing intermittent problems.
VOS and chuzz like this.

Behind the passenger side front wheel is a wiring harness, sometimes the holding clip brakes & the wires will rub on the axle...burning through them.

This is a grey area. It helps if we know what parts were replaced.

The cam sensor , crank sensor , coil pack , plugs and wires all replaced , the ignition switch, anti theft , and battery all tested fine according to the mechanic, along with the fuel pressure from the pump.

I noticed when I changed my cam sensor there was a build up of fine metal particles aligned with the magnets. Clean or replace the magnet.
Just fixed a Jeep with stalls and bucks by replacing the IAC. (no code)

I will check this as well , I think that the IAC was replaced as well , I will make a phone call and double check , so much has been done it's hard to keep up with it all.. But I should have mentioned it in my original post.

the problem is your mechanics (or you, who knows). they don't know how to diagnose modern vehicle control systems. replacing sensors or parts when they function fine is not the way to go, unless you want to end broke.

there is a special logical flow chart the manufacturer provides to diagnose drive-ability issues, it involves using the chrysler drb III scanner, and a process of elimination from most likely to least likely.

I bet you any money this mechanic didn't test the resistance of the secondary coil wires, didn't look at the cam sensor wave form on an oscilloscope, didn't test the resistances of the coil pack.

find a mechanic who knows how to properly diagnose, pinpoint, and fix drive-ability issues (and has the drb III scanner). pay for a diagnosis fee and make a contract where they can only fix it once they know the exact problem and if it isn't fixed after repairs quoted you will ask for a refund.
