Default Break makes noise and it makes the rim very hot!!!

Hi guys
I just changed winter tires to summer tires and after that got a huge noise problem
the noise comes from the left back tire
specially higher when turning on left or right

and when i press the break the noise disappears

i drived it for about 25 minutes to figure it out and after i stopped i touched the rim and it was extremely hot (the other 3 rims were all cool)!!!

so i took the tire out, the break was very rusty and old. so i hit it few times and put the tire back
but i didnt turned to bolts very tight just used my arm pressure (first time when i changed it i used my legs strength)

anyways then the noise disappeared !!!
but after like 15 minutes the noise come back and it was kinda lauder then before !!!

anyone of u had the same issue ???
is there an easy solution ???
do i need to change the break ??? (i dont really want to do that)
and this friday i need to drive a 4 hours trip is it dangerous to go with that situation ??? (the rim gets really hot)

and all this happened just after i changed the tire !!!

thanks for all your helps

Sounds like you over torqued the rims and stretched the bolt holes on the brake drum. Lug nuts should be torqued to 100 ft lbs. You MIGHT be able to remove the brake drum and use a ball peen hammer and tap the holes down. But if they've got cracks around them, you need new ones. Who in the world ever told you to use your legs to tighten lug nuts? I'm surprised you haven't broken a lug off doing that. I can put over 200 ft lbs of torque by "legging" a bolt or nut. DON'T do that anymore. Get a torque wrench.

thanks for the help
I have loosened the bolts little so the sound is mostly gone sometimes comes back but for few seconds so no issue about the sound and the heat from the tire anymore.

but !!!!!!

now i got another issue.
when i turn right (only turning to right) the inside lights open and beeps (same sound when i open the door while the key is still in but engine is stopped)
I really cant figure it out !!!

any suggestion ???
is it related to the tire ???

thanks for the help again.

Are you referring to the dome (or overhead) light? If so, it sounds like your driver side door isn't latching all the way. I'd double check the door latch if it were mine. You can make adjustments without removing anything.
Fk5 and Handy_Cruiser like this.

Does it have to be the latch? In the old days we had all kinds of trouble with the pin switches being out of adjustment and the car thinking doors were open when they were closed and vice versa. I haven't had any trouble with the ones on my PT, but now that I have said that, trouble is sure to follow!

the overhead light opens for few second and the beep starts at the same time.
it only takes few seconds sometimes more than 3 seconds !!!
an i specially check the dor light when it starts to make noise but no door light !!!
i have tried to shut the door little hard but nothing changed.
it only happens when i turn right.

thanks again.

I'm still thinking it's the drivers door, but I'm not a mechanic. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

I would suggest checking the engine oil level. Check anything that might have an effect on the PT Cruiser not being level.
