I see you didn't fill out your profile. Let me guess your physical age...somewhere between 16 and 20?

Yea, it is fast, and it will "beat some people", but there's always somebody faster and it's a deadly game you playing, believe me.

I'm sure there is a minority of GT owners that street race, but the PT isn't a popular car amoung the street racing crowd nor the under 25's age group.

In addition, most of the cruiser owners tend to be older/mature drivers and tend to be more safety oriented drivers.

You will rarely see a post on street racing on any PT forums, and most likely to receive a negative reply to any type of street racing on any PT forums.

You can browse around the SRT-4 forums as they are more active in street racing, but its a whole new mentality there (street racing mentality). In addition, the Dodge SRT-4's fair better than the GT's in street racing, although they both use the same engines.

Otherwise, most people don't even know a PT GT exists and tend to leave you alone in street racing. (They'll think your a snail, and won't want to waste gas).

No real street racing here, but a group of us did go to the NHRA Street Legal Drags at California Speedway recently. See http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...?TOPIC_ID=8340 for the full skinny.

In my first run I was up against an older Mustang GT 5.0L. He had a better reaction time than I did but I still beat him. I'm sure he wasn't too happy about that, but I sure was![8)]

Mike, do you guys have a schedule of somesort where all the PT's can gather up for any NHRA gatherings? I don't plan to hit the track until another month maybe, not sure. I still have to work my GT front facia and pick up some SSR rims.

Are you in SoCal PTGT_Boy? If so, the schedule at California Speedway in Fontana for street legal drags is:

June 26
July 17
July 31
August 21
September 18
November 13

We had 4 Cruisers last time, two more at least are interested in the June event. We'd love to have more!

gtcruiserct, I own a 03' TE w/ 5 spd (no mods), and on occasion I will take on someone at a stop light here or there... gone up against a Jeep Cherokee, Honda Civic, Z-71, Lexus IS-300, Pontiac Grand Prix, and some others. Have beaten them all, except the Lexus, He was about 4 car lengths ahead by the time I was half way through 2nd. I can only imagine what a GT will do. For the old guys out there; I do ease off once I hit about 60, no use in getting killed or stopped for beating the A%@ out of a rice rocket.
