Default Is this fuel line a must have?

The fuel line going from the silver line located on the firewall over to the fuel rail is that silver canister on that line a must have in that line??? This isn't my picture it's the only one I could find on the internet to show. I know the answer but just wanted to see if there was other options I didn't know about?

Not sure what answer you were expecting?

There are NO "must have" fuel line in Chrysler factory availability necessary or needed for any PT Cruiser with a stock or semi stock engine . Now if you are in competition or a highly modified 2.4 engine with larger injectors and perhaps a N20 system than there are larger fuel rails available form other model Chrysler products that will work on the PT Cruiser 2.4 . However the best option is to modify the stock fuel rail or just make a custom fuel rail.
