Default 02 PT Overheats with AC on

Had a new fan, both low & high speeds work...AC is blowing cold air......radiator has been flushed, no gurgling or bubbling.......temp gauge goes above the halfway mark after some time driving and keeps going up unless I shut down the AC & let the fans cool down the engine.......only thing I noticed is that I don't hear the AC & fan cycle as it usually does before.....really had not much clue.....

Did you check the coolant level by taking the radiator cap off?

Did you try burping the radiator to make sure there is no air in the coolant system?

Does it overheat at both high and low speeds or just low speeds?

Did you check the coolant level by taking the radiator cap off? yup, radiator coolant level was fine, even replaced the cap recently.

Did you try burping the radiator to make sure there is no air in the coolant system?yup, burped the rad as well through the nipple near the thermostat....upper hose gets hot too.

Does it overheat at both high and low speeds or just low speeds?both speeds especially when stopped/stationary

If it overheats at high and low speeds I would suggest checking your thermostat. When the engine overheats the thermostat can change making it not working properly. The thermostat might not be opening up all the way.

If its not the thermostat recheck the that the fan is running and cycling as the temperature gets to half way on the gauge.
It may run sometimes if the harness connector is heat damaged.

Radiator fan has no effect on engine temperature at high speeds. This PT Cruiser overheats at high speeds.

Does it still overheat without the A/C running at low or high speeds.

You MIGHT want to do a flush and fill. Maybe the radiator or heater core is getting clogged.

fan just kept running on high speed and AC doesn't cycle on & off.

It doesn't overheat at high speeds, only when you're stopped.
