Default ac gets hotter while in cruise control

While using cruise control my rpm increase while going up a steady highway,
and the ac air becomes hotter. This does not happen while not using cruise control. By reading the Haynes , there is no expanation in the manual. Any help, advice?

Thank you

With most cars, maybe all of them, the computer senses that the car needs more power when over taking or going up hill and shuts off the compressor to accommodate that need for the extra power. When back to normal driving, the compressor is turned back on so for that few seconds the air into the cabin will feel warm until the compressor comes back on.

With the cruise control on, that extra power when going up hills is put on gradually and the compressor stays on.

I use my a/c with cruise on all the time. No issues at all.

No issues with my PT, either, with the A/C on with the cruise. All normal.

Locally and state wide in the flats of Florida this A/C anomaly commonly doesn't pop up, as Chuzz mentioned.The reason being;

Conversely, in any of my trips in SOOO BIG up north where that third dimension road factor rises, Mountains, I've noticed just as Crewzin explained, that if the power is needed the A/C is designed to cut out to maintain speed. just as a down shift.

Drivin' my old '71 Ford Fiesta with its adequate but somewhat under powered engine, the A/C was always cuttin' out at the slightest hill.

As the CC isn't as delicately selective with the accelerator as a human, this A/C cut out will be more noticeable with the CC on.

When I'd hit a mountain in SOOO BIG I'd cut the CC off, speed up at the bottom and with a delicate foot on the accelerator, I traded speed for A/C as I climbed the mountain.

All I can suggest is peddle faster!

Happy ptin', ptprice

Hmmmm, I didn't notice any cut out on the a/c on my trip to Boaz, AL back in May. Maybe it's because I was more concerned with the transmission dropping down into 3rd while going down some steep hills. I don't know. But I'm pretty sure I would have noticed any halt in the a/c. I'm very sensitive to non working a/c since having had two brain surgeries back in 2004. They screwed up my internal "thermostat" somehow. But that's okay, I've adapted.
