Default someone please help me !!!!!!!!!

i just bought a 2005 pt cruiser touring edition 2 days ago. it has a 2.4 liter motor automatic.. just the other day i went to start it and the starter/solenoid just clicks. so i bought a new starter installed and started up right away, so i turned it off put all my tools away, was gonna go to store when i tried to start it and just clicks again. had starter tested , battery , checked all ground cables all seem good. does or did anyone had this trouble ? i need my car so any suggestions would be very helpful. thanks

Did you clean the grounds behind the air cleaner box on the drivers side. The follow the cables to their ends and clean those? Hot side too.

I would suggest doing a battery load test. You need to make sure your battery and charging system is working properly. If you have a battery charger charge the battery before taking it in. Make sure when they set up the battery load tester that its adjusted to the amperage on the battery.

Is the starter new, rebuilt or re-manufactured? Some members have taken the rebuilt starters back to an auto parts up to three times before finding a good one.

+1 on the battery. I can't believe that you went right to the starter without further testing. When my battery was on the way out, I could pull the car off the charger and try to start it and have it click, then try it again 6 hours later and it might start right up. They do strange things and wiring issues can cause all kinds of problems.

I just noticed on my 05 the other day that the bolt on the negative battery terminal was very tight but there is a spacer within the battery clamp that stopped the clamp from tightening on the post.

The bolt was tight but with a little effort I could spin the clamp on the post.. not a good connection in my book.

Go to your local Walmart or auto parts store and look for "battery post shims" or "battery terminal shims"

They look like lead cups with a slot cut out and fit over the battery terminal. They add enough width to the battery terminal to allow the terminal to grab onto the post tightly.

I put those red and green felt corrosion protectors on one of my car's battery and because the posts are tapered, the higher sitting terminal can't clamp onto the post. The shims help a lot in this situation.
