Welcome to the forum.

When this happens is there anything else that stops working?

Have you checked to make sure all battery cables connections are good?

Does your engine light come on when this happens? If so what are the engine trouble codes?

You might want to check and see if the ignition actuator is working properly or if there is a problem with the ignition actuator pin if everything else checks out good.

Welcome to the forum!

You might also have a faulty/overheating PCM/ECM.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago and it did the same thing. Was driving with no problem and then just quit while I was stopped at a light. I had no indication of any issue beforehand. Then I had it towed to my mechanic and he told me that he was able to crank it and then it died a while after.

He ran a diagnostic and said that when the PCM was cool in temperature, it would temporarily work and allow my car to crank/run. As soon as it started to overheat, it would stop working, resulting in my car shutting off with no warnings of any kind.

So, you might want to check it out as well.

Make sure you check everything else before thinking of replacing the PCM. Some members have had the Crankshaft or Camshaft wiring found to be shorting to ground on the half shaft or on the engine block, etc. after finding out it was not the PCM. Check the wire harness between the crankshaft and the PCM. Same with the Camshaft sensor.
Teekypt likes this.

Hey! Great advice! But my issue really was the pcm. As soon as it was replaced MY issue went away.

First, welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!

Are you getting any trouble codes? And if so, what are they? A crank or cam sensor would likely be throwing codes.

That question was already asked in post #3.

I have attached post #3 below.
