Default Sea foam epidemic

Hey all,

I put in Seafoam into my gas tank today to get some cleaning done along the fuel system - and right as it started to flow through I noticed that my car had a nasty rough idle to the point where the car dies sometimes. Also I heard scraping in the engine bay which I know for sure isn't a good thing. The car has 130k on it, and so I'm assuming due to the high mileage and the lack of care along the fuel system I'm sure that is what is causing it. So, my game plan is to wait a little bit until my spark plug wires get in and then change my plugs, wires, coil pack, and then clean out my throttle body and run the tank low on gas (about 1/4) and fill it to dilute the Seafoam.

If anyone has any other suggestions in more than open to them. Thank you.

Exclamation Re: Sea foam epidemic

Real quick update: I looked under my car and realized that there is a nasty leak under the car and the fluid was red which is indicative of transmission leakage... Will investigate more tomorrow.

As far as the coil pack, I've read it is extremely rare that they go bad in PT Cruisers.

Try Berryman B-12, I don't think that there's anything better.

Berryman B-12 Chemtool Carburetor/Fuel Treatment and Injector Cleaner

You can pretty much pick it up anywhere...even Walmart.
Just pour the whole bottle into 1/2 a tank.

While sea foam is not the best bang for the buck. I don't think it's your problem. I have not heard of any one having created a problem on a car useing a gas treatment. Plugs could be suspect. And can just act up all of a sudden. Pulled out a set in a truck that seemed to run fine till one day it just would hardly run. Pulled them out and huge gap. Why no symptoms prior I will never know.

I guess im either relaly lucky or just ODD
I change my oil every month and add a bottle of lucas oil stabilizer 3 quarts of Castrol Edge and a wix filter ever month
I also add a full can of sea foam to my tank it does make a oil change really expensive but I drive a lot of miles and I don't want to work on my car every night so I do what I THINKS WORKS FOR ME
and then just because I can like every other month I will add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in place of a quart of oil
I don't think I ever put sea foam in the oil I don't think I knew you could I guess it helps keep the engine clean??
anyway I have never had any issues with sea foam
I don't know if 1 botrtle a month helps anything but I don't think it can hur anything either

I don't really know if any of that helps a motor last longer but it easies my mind that I did all I could and I do usally get close to or a little over that 200,000 mark but then that could just be from doing regular oil changes
