Default GETTIN HOT 04 PT..??

04 NON TURBO..AUTO,,

NEW THERMOSTAT

NEW FAN..WORKS IN BOTH SPEEDS AS SHOULD

NEW WATER PUMP/TIMING BELT..

ON HOT DAYS HIGH 80S AND UP..STARTS GETTING HOT DRIVING ,,

CREEPS UP TO ABOUT A NEEDLE ABOVE THE 3/4 MARK,,FIRST MARK PAST CENTER..

I CAN TURN ON THE HEATER AND IT WILL COME BACK DOWN FAIRLY QUICK..??

FANS WORKING GOOD..COOLENT GOOD..

MY QUESTION IS COULD THE RADIATOR BE SOMEWHAT STOPPED UP? CAUSING THIS? IT DOSENT GET HOT ON COOL DAYS..AND ON HOT DAYS ON A LONG UPHILL PULL IT WILL GET HOT TOO..

COULD IT HAVE AIR IN THE SYSTEM? ABOUT READY TO BUY A NEW RADIATOR?

First question - Did you use the bleed valve below the thermostat to get the air out of the system? It's very hard to get her "burped" without using that valve.

Does it overheat at high speeds? If it does not overheat at high speeds chances are your radiator is fine.

No haven't burned it there? Do I get it up to temp then open that bleeder
Yes still. Gets hot at 60mph never more that a needle above 3/4..

You want to do all coolant adjustments while car is cool. The link below is from this forum, I recently provided a detailed explanation on purging the air out of your PT coolant system using the bleeder valve. The process described worked perfectly for me, other members may have alternate suggestions but only a couple ways to really yield the same result. Good luck getting your issue sorted out.

Have you checked your radiator cap?

I would suggest a coolant pressure check to make sure your coolant system is sealed if you are losing coolant.
