Default Power loss while driving

I have been dealing with power issues for sometime now, it started in December. I was driving home on the interstate going about 70mph and out of nowhere the radio pops and the power just shuts off then starts back up within a few seconds. This happened a couple times that week then it just wouldnt start. We got the alternator/starter and battery terminals replaced (battery was only a few months old at this time). In January the car wouldnt start at all and they said my spark plugs were flooded and that was the cause.

It has been fine until a couple weeks ago, i was driving and the car did the same thing as before, radio popped and then the car power shut off and started right back up while driving. This has happened a few times now. Then this week everything was fine while driving, got to my destination and went in, when i went to leave everything was dead, no lights, power locks, nothing. I looked under the hood to make sure the battery terminals were not corroded and was mad so kinda let my hood slam, might have added a little force to it. When I got in my car to make a call it was magically working again, I was able to start it up just fine.

I need to say i know nothing about cars, just that this is not normal at all! and am kinda over the mechanic telling me i am nuts! I have a 2007 PT Touring Edition 5 speed manual.

Please help!!

A possible cause could be your ignition switch.

Welcome to the forum. I'd suggest removing the battery and checking the grounds on the passenger side fender. Clean them thoroughly and reattach them. Clean the posts and terminals on the battery too and make sure they're tight. It sounds to me like you've simply got a loose connection under the hood. BUT, I'm NOT a mechanic. You do what I suggested and all you'll spend is a little time and effort, no money out of pocket. Quicksilverdon's suggestion of the ignition switch could be a possibility too. Do you carry a lot of keys on your key ring?

I would suggest getting the battery checked out. Even if they are only a few months old they can go bad.

Take the PT Cruiser to an auto parts store where they can do a battery load test with the battery in the PT Cruiser. Make sure they input the correct amps that the battery amperage is suppose to hold.
