Default 2001 PT cruiser base

I am new here and hope I am staying within the boundaries of the forum. my car recently displayed a 0401,0403 & 1684, after reading some of the forums input I took the advise and purchased a EGR & solenoid and install it and cleared the codes, after a day of riding no codes!! I really thought that I had done pretty good. the next day I drove the car to work to get it inspected and still no engine light! I was going to my regular place where I get my car inspected but just arriving the light came on, I noticed before the light my vehicle hesitated and ran a little rough, I read the code and now a P0172 has come up (which was never there before) and also the 1684 came back. I am at a loss and really need some advise as to maybe why this code popped up
Thank you.

Please post what each code reads as. I know a 401 and 403 are misfires in cylinder 1 and 3, but the rest could use more information so the rest of us don't have to go looking through a manual.

P0172- Fuel System Rich (Bank 1) Conditions:

Possible Causes:
Base engine fault
EVAP vapor recovery system failure
Fuel control Sensor is out of calibration
Fuel delivery component fault
O2 element is contaminated, deteriorated or it has failed
O2 heater is damaged or has failed

Since your previous two codes are effecting the 02 sensors I would check to see if the 02 sensors is working properly.

How many miles on the engine?
Is the engine oil level too high?
Is the canister full of fuel? You are running rich!
How is your gas mileage?
VOS likes this.
