Default Power Mirrors

Greetings Gentlemen
My very first question directed to those that know. (I Hope)
Is it standard to have power folding mirrors on all production Cruisers ?
The reason for my question is that I purchased an after market mirror from a US supplier and after receiving it in Australia ...I found that it was power pan / tilt with no power fold (just hand operation )
When I complained to the supplier...telling him the description implied that it was all power functions...he told me that power fold was not standard to all models.
I did some research prior to my purchase ...and was pretty sure of the answer they all had power fold.
Cheers
Chris...

I can only speak for the North American spec cruisers but they are not folding. That's kind of cool although, you bought some that fold in ? Where did you get them.

Welcome to the forum

You should go to the New Members section and create your own thread, tell us a little about yourself and your PT, and post some pics of your ride when you get a chance.

The Gen1 PT's had no power folding mirrors, manual only.

My '02 PT Limited Edition does not have power folding mirrors. That are, however, electrically operated for positioning the mirror and heated.

Thanks for your prompt info.
I got it wrong.
All the Cruisers that were exported to Australia(2000-2010) were fitted with power fold mirrors,so I just presumed that all cars around the world were supplied in that condition.
Its a bit strange that Chrysler would not supply the local customers with this feature .
The folding mirror that I purchased on ebay came from parts-pros and at $46.00 was pretty good value but the freight to Australia was a bit of a killer.
Cheers

That would be a cool option to have!

Does the interior mirror switch on your PT look like this:

You're likely only going to find a replacement mirror at a u-pull-it yard near you.

Yes that's the switch... and you can see the buttons that fold the mirror back into the body. Very handy at the car park.
So that's the same switch as you have in the US ?...but it doesn't do any thing. (That's a bit strange) You do have power windows and drivers seat as standard
I did get hold of a replacement power folding mirror from a wrecking yard that came off a 2003. Its in very good condition for AUD $100. Now that was a pretty good price as I've seen them going for up to around AUD $150.00
Cheers

No, that's nothing like the mirror switch here in the US, I found it by doing a Google search, but I can't find out anything about the power fold mirrors, but it is very cool that you have them.

What year PT do you have?

There are several listed on the Ebay Australian website for sale, you can tell it's heated because of the symbol on the glass, and folding, just can't tell if it's power folding. Would likely be able to tell by the number of wires in the plug.

I drive a midnight blue pearl '04 2 lt five speed with 111171K on the clock and it runs sweet.
I had a look at the mirrors currently on AU Ebay ..and yes they will all be power fold as well as heated and the plug has seven connections.
You would have to think that all the models would have had the same wiring loom...just a matter of what was connected.
I have a spare plug under my passangers seat (left side) that I'm sure would be for the power seat on the US version so there is a posability that you could also have a spare plug under your passangers seat.
Cheers
