Default Anchor center mount # 2947..be warned

anchor center mount 2947 ( or "rear mount" as rock auto calls it for some reason) is not going to work on a 2005 2.4l na limited edition engine vin b. the "v" shaped part that slots into the center mount bracket on #2947 is flush with the face of the mount housing. the oem part protrudes aprx 5/8".
I'm sure rock auto will accept it as a return but today was the day to get it all back together. I'm not too thrilled with the way they identify what parts fit what. I selected 2947,2948 and 2949 with no vin or wagon/convertible notes by them. also the bottom mount is wrong but it will work. didn't come with the bolt on counter weight at the end (the oem bottom is longer with the c.w. as part of the cast....
fwiw duralast #12947 from auto zone is identical. I cant risk ordering from rock auto, itll take too long and I need to be 100% sure its correct.

This is why I stop ordering certain parts from RockAuto as they don't provide any customer service to verify that parts they sell will work with your PT Cruiser.

^^ agreed. btw I bet this may be why some snap the torx bolt. with that part you are basically trying to pull the engine towards the mount and working against the tranny mount. at least it was only 15$. cant beat the gates timing kit though. the fel pro top end gasket kit is good too but doesn't come with the heater hose pipe to water pump oring. one seems like it will work till you compare the oem one... fel pro injector orings could be a little more snug, but I always loved f.p. head gaskets.

The 2005 PT NA (non-turbo) lower mount part number is 2949. That should be the right one. And I have a 2947 mount right here in my desk. It's a Parts Plus brand. And the "V" does not stick out. It's just the aluminum block surround the bolt that sticks out and fits into the "slot" on the engine plate. That should be the right part for a 2005 "B" code PT.

So I'm not following the problem here. I'm not saying you are wrong. It's more likely that I'm confused. But I wonder if your parts are boxed right. Do you have photos?

The really best advise is simply match your part even on the internet if it means contacting the supplier to have them send you a picture.

Many of us that have been in the parts business known that with re-merch and un checked part numbers,out of date cross references poor RW information etc., etc., that getting the right parts the first time by not comparing is like ordering fast food in the drive through for 4 or more people. Seldom does everything work out.

Any one can visit any auto parts service shop and look at the growing pyle of new parts waiting to be returned to their supplier for much of the same reasons I just stated.

I would guess on average I get a wrong part at least once a month when I order on line.

Contacting Anchor the manufacture in this case is the best place to start to resolve the problem with application of a new part.

Maybe I am just dense and I don't get what you are saying the problem is with the Anchor mount. Maybe some pictures would help.

I didn't buy the Anchor brand, but I bought the Westar brand EM2947 center mount from Rock Auto. It even comes with a new bolt.

Just for reference, here are some comparison pictures between the new Westar mount and the old factory mount.

the part numbers are right, but someone mixed up and used a different part under the correct number, period.
the photos in the description and the part that is sent is completely different if you know what you're doing. i suggest using a seller with a good reputation like ebay seller clickforpart . they double-check with me before the order was sent to make sure the parts were correct, exactly. when i received the parts i checked with the old oem mounts and they all lined up.

for the pt cruiser gt;

- 3169: Front Right Lower Mount.

- 2948 : Front Right Upper Mount.

- 2947 : Front Right Center.

for the NON gt;
2948: Motor Mount
2949: Motor Mount
2947: Motor Mount

supplier needs to double-check inventory and back-check the supplier
