Default PCM PLUG - LOCK CLIP BROKEN AND I AM VERY MAD

Guys

I was cleaning the PCM connections and I broke one of the amazing weak plastic red lock clips.

I am not able to find the plug anywhere. Did you guys have this problem before.

I am so furious.. I hate this plastic parts.

Was it the red locking clip or the black tab that is broken?

Help

As you can see in the link that ptcruisersteve posted, we've been through this before... I have a donor car here now, I'm hoping to see if I can test my theory about removing good clips from a plug to replace the broken ones. Hopefully it works so I can get rid of the zip ties holding one of my plugs on!

Yep,

That's my photo posted above. You can indeed replace the plug. It takes some time but can be done.

i like the zip tie idea. simple and effective.

changing all those wires should go ok if you're detail oriented and familiar with doing that correctly. it could also be a very easy way to cause more problems.

just curious..why are you cleaning those connections anyways? are you fighting a bad PCM, chasing hopes and dreams, or..??

Because sometimes the car was not switching and the engine light was on. But if I park and turn on and turn off the car, everything is fine.

The mechanic took a look and he said probably is a bad PCM or a bad cable. The first thing that I tried was to clean the plugs but I have the same problem again, so I also need to replace the PCM.. or to re-program it which I do not know how to do it.. seems to be a software issue.

I haven't broken the PCM clip, but I have broken my fair share of Mopar electrical clips. I have to say, for me the sequence is usually, I AM VERY MAD AND THEN I BREAK THE LOCK CLIP
