I have two questions about the PT's.
1) How are they in snow (any better or worse than your average front wheel car)? 2) Has anyone had a fender bender and how much damage occured (I've heard they fold in a crash)? Thanks! |

Ralph
I had to drive through a good storm last weekend. I can say that my GT handled the snow Much better then I thought. I had heard horror stories about the eagle tires on the GT. In fact I had a 95 Neon with the same set and they were not very good for snow. The PT felt very solid in the snow and did not hunt for grooves like my previous car (99 Hyundai Tiburon). I have a feeling the PT's weight and lighter steering feel are the biggest contributors to its better winter manners. I will probably put snow tires on next winter. This is more just to save those big chrome wheels from salt and sand. As for it holding up in a collision?? I can't say. I hope I never have find out>>>>>>>>>>>> ;> -------- 2003 Silver GT |

It will crumple in a crash, I know.. It is supposed to crumple to protect the people inside. Mine I hit the back end of a Nissan Altima and I destroyed the right side of my PT from the headlight back to the front door. There is not much under the fender anyway to keep it crumpling in. I walked away just a bit bruised. Total in May of 2001 $5000.00 and over 6 weeks in the shop.. Don't ask what the renal car cost

Well My pt runs great in the snow its just like a tank. I don't have those garbage goodsmears on my car though. As for accidents today (-19-03) i was rear ended and it looks like the only damage is a broken reverse light
