Default key and security systen question

when I bought my 06 the lights blinked when I hit the unlock button on the key. now they do not. Is something failing here?

Try resetting the computer by taking off the negative battery cable for 10 minutes. While the cable is off, step on the brake pedal. After 10 minutes put the cable back on and see if that helped.

You can turn this feature on & off along with the horn.
If no one can help, I'll look for info when I get back home.

I haven't tried it with the PT but on my old car, if you hold both the lock and unlock button, it changed the chirping when unlocking the car. Should hold for about 5 seconds and see the lights blink.

To Turn Off "Flash Lights with Lock"

NOTE: The "Flash Lights with Lock" feature can be
turned on or off. For EVIC-equipped vehicles refer to
Personal Settings (Customer-Programmable Features)",
in the "Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) If
Equipped" section of this manual. For non-EVIC-
equipped vehicles, perform the following steps:
1. Press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds.
2. While the UNLOCK button is pressed, (after four
seconds) press the LOCK button. Release both buttons.
3. Test the "Flash Lights with Lock feature while outside
of the vehicle by pressing the LOCK button on the RKE
transmitter with the ignition in the LOCK position, and
the key removed.
NOTE: Pressing the LOCK button on the RKE transmit-
ter while you are in the vehicle will activate the Security Alarm. Opening a door with the Security Alarm activated
will cause the alarm to sound. Press the UNLOCK button
to deactivate the Security Alarm.
The "Flash Lights on Lock/Unlock" features can be
reactivated by repeating this procedure

What trim level PT do you have? Does it have the EVIC in the left hand bottom part of the instrument cluster? If you have the EVIC, there will be a button similar to resetting the trip odometer. If so, that feature is set through the EVIC.
