ROOKIE, with the HP of a non-turbo, I don't think there is much else you can do with it.[:I] You could do a search and look for some more ideas. Good Luck!!!

Im confused.

I've been looking for an exhaust too.
But money keeps holding me back for a long time.
Now with my accident, money is really slim.

I have wanted to find something in the 250 range installed.
So the idea is too keep everthing but the last part of the exhaust piping right?

What is the setup that some are using. If I could find more info I could get my butt into the muffler shop to set this up and get my true flow.

I already have intake and new plugs & wires plus a special mod to the intake box thanks to a Mr. Tee. I have noticed a difference after putting my old box back in. It runs nice but looses some clean runs because of the resricted exhaust.

I also did wires and plugs and a k&n cold air intake. Also i put on a BORLA cat back dual exaust system that set me back about 499$ but im verry verry happy wt it a little moore than i wanna spend but it was worth it [8)]u can find it at www.ptcruiserbits.com

Im having the same problem you are, rookie. I put a k&n filter in it, and removed the silencers. I ordered a timing resistor hoping itll give me close to 10 more horses. Removing the silencers is a great idea. I love the sound at full throttle. I cant feel the difference in power, but at least i can tell my friends ive got more power than stock n/a pt's

Rookie - You might also consider a mod that isn't very popular on this forum, which is an underdrive pulley. I have an Unorthodox Racing model which is supposed to be about the best and costs around $200 or so. It's supposed to increase horsepower by around eight. I haven't installed mine yet so I can't give you any more feedback.

Taking out the silencers and putting in the K&N removed ALOT of my lowend studder. ( you know that sensation that the car wants to go but cant?)

I have heard from other forums that the under drive pully is a good move. MX5 do you have any input on underdrives for the N/A?

The underdrive pulley may free up a couple of HP, but at the risk of charging system problems.

I don't know what kind of components they are using, but through Aug 15th, Meineke is having a deal for a dual cat back exhaust system installed for $350. You don't get chrome or stainless pipes or muffler, but you could always add a tip. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or not? Money is a little tight right now, but if this is a really good deal, I might just have to act on it.
