Default Headlight/fog lamp bulb replacement/alignment

I replaced the standard Sylvania bulbs today (9006XS/low, 9005XS/hi, 9145/fog) with Hella Optilux bulbs. I regret this move and I don't recommend it to any fellow members! First, I found that the rubber grommets/o-rings that Hella uses to seal the bulbs into the housing are too fat to fit into any of the housings--hi, low or fog! I had to swap the grommets off the old Sylvanias and mount them on the Hellas in order to get the bulbs to fit into the housings.

They're all working but now I have an alignment problem; the passenger side hi beam is aimed too high, and apparently there is no adjustment of the hi beam, independent of the low beam (my 2009 Touring has two "adjustment" holes, but only the outboard one actually has any adjustment mechanism). The bulbs are all properly seated in the housings.

Any tips on how to get the hi beam back under control would be greatly appreciated!

Cruiser #2: 2009 Touring, 28k miles...loving it!

Welcome to the forum

Thank you for your service

The outboard adjustment (below the turn signal) will adjust up/down aiming. You will probably just have to split the difference and compromise. If just the one bulb is that far out of whack, you may not have the bulb fully seated. If you have to adjust left/right aiming, you will have to remove the headlight assembly to get to the access screw on the back side as when mounted in the vehicle, it's blocked by a piece of structure.

The one being pointed to at the top that says VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT SCREW, by the one mounting stud. That's the one you can't get to from inside the fender liner access panel because it's blocked by some structure.

I have notched the structure on my PT to allow access to the adjusting screw, with a long flat-blade screwdriver, through the fender liner access hole,
