Default Brake lights and amber turn signal lights come on at same time

I have a 2006 PT, when you press the brake the brake lights come on but also the amber turn signals light as well, the car will not pass inspection like this.
Also there are no codes set but the brake light and air bag lights are on in the dash. I replaced the multifunction switch with a known good one. I also checked all the bulbs.
Any Ideas? Thanks very much.

Did the brake light and air bag light come on at the same time?

Has someone replaced the bulbs in the turn signal lately? If so, you need to make sure that the correct # bulb was used. I bought a Nissan truck several years ago that had a similar issue and it was the wrong bulbs someone had stuck in the turn signal sockets. I got the correct ones and cured the problem.

I just had a go-round with a taillight today.

"You'd think" it would be a simple bulb but no.....
A trip to the dealer for a new socket [$20] and I'm good to go.

"Along the way" is a common ground that might explain this case.

From my schematic check today, it would seem either the multi-switch or ground are all that could explain this case.
