All,
I purchased a screamin demon coil from Howell Automotive. It failed. The secondary coil failed shuting down 2 cylinders. I was stranded 135 miles from home. I was forced to buy a stock coil from the dealership. When I informed Howell of this, they told me that installing a stock coil instead of waiting for days for a replacement was my choice. Since there was no invoice in the box from Howell, I was forced to contact the manufacturer, Performance Distributors. They indicated I should send it to them for analysis. Now Howell Automotive will not refund my money, nor will they send me a replacement. They insist that I now pay for shipping from Performance Distributors to my home then to them. I have copies of my credit card statement which they also want. They insist that I did not buy it from them, even though I have proof that I did. I would recommend HIGHLY, avoiding Howell Automotive. Unles you just like poor customer service and throwing your money away. Now for the good news. Performance Distributors in Memphis, (TN 901-396-5782 Brian) stepped up and agreed to send me a new replacement coil, AND they are testing the faulty coil to ensure that this fluke will never happen again. Performance Distributors is a true class act. They stand behind all their products, and are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a supplier of PT Cruiser parts. |

That's a sad ordeal snakepitt1, but at least it looks as though you'll have some satisfaction in the long run.
I put the Screamin' Demon coil on with the 8.5mm Magnecores & Double Platinums, and it's all working just fine (so far [8D] ) Josh & the folks at Revel Enterprises (AutoTruckToys.com) were great to work with, but of course it's when things go wrong that tests people's mettle...... Thanks for the heads-up! Brian

I have purchased a few things from Howell in the past. NEVER had any probs. All stuff was at my door in two or three days. I even had to call them once for a part# on a access. belt. May have just been a bad day for them [:I]

2 days after speaking to Performance Distributors, a brand new Screamin Demon coil was on my door step. AND, I didn't even buy it from them, I had bought it from Howell Automotive.
Performance Distributors went way beyond anthing I could have ever expected. All I can say is, "Thank You Brian at Performance Distributors. You guys have my business from this day forward!!!" Scott Harris
