Default 04 turbo p2305

So, ive read all of the other threads related to this code.

Car came to me dead, no start no crank.
P2305, p0300 and 0302
Asd #13 was blown. Replaced the fuse, car starts and continues to run like crap.
Cam and crank test ok, injectors ohm out as they should along with wires.plugs are new.
Checking pcm shows power on c1 pin 29 and 30 and ground on pins 9 and 18.
I hate to be the tech that says the pcm is bad, especially since its a chrysler reman less than two years old. Looking for any insight to p2305.
O and its not the coil capacitor either.
Its been a long day of backprobing and testing. Maybe im missing something?
Anyway, heres a picture of the coil after i had the car running for 20 minutes. It poped the asd fuse, i smelled electrical burning. Im obviously repacing the coil now. Has anybody seen this on the pt. These coils are basically bullet proof.

Sometimes the connecter goes bad going to the coil and starts arcing. Have you checked for any arcing around the spark plugs or wires.

Yea, no traces of arching. There was a spot in the power wire to the coil where somebody incorrectly probed the wire. Just to take the possibil variable out of the equation i adhesive heat shrunk the wire. No change.
Im really confused about the coil cracking then melting while running. Im used to that type of failure on bmws, audis porsche with coil on plug coils, but never on these basic 4 post coils.

Ignition Coil No. 2 Secondary Circuit Insufficient Ionization

Possible Causes:

1. Intermittent condition Cylinder No. 2 spark plug or wire is damaged or it has failed
2, Ignition Coil No. 2 is damaged or it has failed
3. Ignition coil control circuit is open or shorted to ground
4. ASD relay output circuit problems
5. PCM has failed

Im stuck on pcm failure. Everything else is as it should be. Granted i could have a sensor intermittently failing .
It just sucks for my customer. 2 pcm's in two years.
I was hoping somebody had an idea of something i overlooked.

This type of damage is indicative of excessive current drawn by the secondary side of the ignition coil. These coils are capable of generating a lot of current when the demand is high but will fail if the high demand is constant. If you have excessive resistance in the plug wire or spark plug wires it takes a lot of current from the coil to operate. There is enough current in those coils to crack the case or damage it. The coil works off of demand and when that is high it causes the primary side of the coil to draw much more current which is why it blows the ASD fuse.

Since it seems you have replaced or checked the spark plugs and spark plug wires I would suggest making sure you have a good ground from the engine to the body.

I thought it could be a ground issue. Cleaned up the ground connections aleady. It may have been an internal fault in the coil this whole time, tested in spec when cold, warmed up and popped. Ill keep this updated as i go. P2305 seems to be a problem with no actual solution. Hell identafix is even vague about it.

Pcm tested bad. Not sure if this helps anybody with this code. I updated identafix on the diagnostic procedure. It was lacking in..well basically any diagnostic procedure if you dont have acces to a drb3 or star scan.
Im having trouble locating a replacement pcm. Ebay isnt much help. Ive found many for an 04 turbo, but the pn range doesn't fit my pcm. Any ideas?

When I fried my PCM (I crossed my battery terminals) I sent it to this place that I found through Ebay. A week later I got my PCM back and have been driving with zero problems from it for almost 2 years. And it was much cheaper than getting a replacement PCM.

They will test out the unit before fixing it, but I still gave them all the info I had about what I believed was wrong with mine upfront.

don't worry about the PN range. what is important is the model year, transmission style, and every other option and VIN is programmed to the memory. hopefully the supplier will program with the latest versions and VIn before delivery.
ps - there are a lot of PCM failures on these cars.
