Default ignition actuator pin and power windows

I have a 2002 limited that will at times have all the power windows not work. Later they will work as if there is no problem. It is low mileage but the car is started and stopped many times a day. I have checked for the problem with the wire making contact with the drive axle and I have not seen any other problems with the key switch such as car won't crank and start, or airbag light is on.
I have not seen a lot of discussion of the actual electrical ignition switch failing, but the ignition actuator pin between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch does come up as being a problem fairly often. Has anybody seen this part cause a disconnect of the power windows without any other symptoms?

Looking at the Repair Manual for the 2001-2003, the ignition switch doesn't come into play for the windows. The main power comes from the circuit breaker in the fuse block in the interior by your left knee. The CB is the silver object on the left top of the fuses. On the back of the cover it's marked C/B 20AP/WDO. Try pulling that (with the battery disconnected) and re-insert it in case it's not making good contact and maybe looking behind the fuse block (if you can) to see the wiring harness for anything unusual.

Info for 2001-2005
Fuse #3, 40 amp in the under-hood PDC, protects the power-window circuit breaker in the dash fuse panel. If it is not feeding power to the power windows the cabin blower also won't blow.

Is your cabin blower working when the power windows are not working?

Thanks for the responses. It only acts up when she is driving it of course, and it is still something fairly new. As an aside, the switch and key seem tight to me even if that doesn't matter. I will make investigations along the lines suggested, and try and train her on other things to check for when the problem comes up again.
