Question Help Please

Hi all,

I have a 2002 Woody, it has recently started doing something really odd, there's no error codes and my mechanic has no idea because of course I can't replicate it.

It will cold start fine, then I can drive it any distance with no issue. If I turn it off and then get back in relatively quick it will start again. However after about an hour it's completely dead. No lights nothing. Then if I wait another 2 or so hours it starts right up again.

Does anyone have any ideas?

There are lots of threads about poor or problematic drivibilty and no start issues over more than a decade of information to be found here.

First idea is seek a "real" trained auto mechanic! Or even better an ASE Auto Technician
Next have the battery load tested and while there check all the connection look carefully at grounds.
Then check the diagnostic connector for those codes your "mechanic" claimed were not there. They are there...trust me unless your PCM is faulty or the connector is damaged!

As NitroPT says this requires a good mechanic. The link below gives you three possible different common issues that might be causing your issue. There are many other causes that can have the same symptoms. As suggested first go to a auto parts store where they will hook up their scanner and tell you for free what codes you might have. Post back what you find out. If you want to try and do a diagnosis yourself we can help you every step of the way.
