Default Srt8 wheels on a PT cruiser?

I was wondering if these wheels, with a 5x112.3 adapter, would fit with a lower profile tire.

^^^WOW thats a really helpful post...

OP what size are the wheels in question, hard to tell from the pic... I would guess they are probably too wide to fit the PT, especially after adding the adapter...

Welcome to the forum from the great sovereign state of Arkansas!

First, those don't look like SRT8 rims. Instead, they look like 18 inch base or police model Charger or 300 rims. No matter the year, modern SRT rims are going to be 20 inch. And most from 2006 through 2011 or so will have Alcoa written on them somewhere.

Also, those rear wheel drive rims are going to have very different offsets. They would likely stick out from the fenders way too far. This is the reason you don't see a bunch of front wheel drive cars sporting the 18 inch Charger/Challenger take-off rims which are as common on Craigslist as escort services.

PS: I own a Charger Dayton, Charger R/T Premium, Dodge Ram truck and have owned three different PT Cruisers. I've definitely considered this and done the measurements before myself.

Maybe you can pm kcabe1 and explain how to post pictures so when some using a cell phone do not have to take multiple steps to see them as an attachment.

I'm sorry about the pictures but I have no idea how to post them the proper way. If someone could tell me I'd be sure to post them correctly. By the way, if they stick out too far I'm going to put widebody fenders on it. The wheels are 18x7.5

Sorry I didn't recognize who you were at first. I'm glad one of our other members has enough free time on his hands to search, find and link to my all old posts to you. While slightly creepy, he can be useful at times too.

Don't worry about the photos. The only ones that have trouble seeing photos are one to two old guys that don't know how to work their cell phones. At least one I know of is definitely on the wrong the wrong side of the digital divide.

I thought the wheels looked like 18's. They are just base Charger rims. Not SRT8 rims. I think you will have lot's of issues when you go to mount these. You may want to wait on buying low profit tires until you try mounting them. That way, if they don't work all you will be out is the cost of the adapters and whatever the wheels cost. Whether they work or not, please post some photos to help others that attempt to go down this path.

And here's how to make your photos show up in your posts. You may want to go to YouTube to see the full size video.

Thank you so much that is so convenient! Alright so for the charger wheels I was thinking that with these adapters

Single_adapter.jpg

and some trimming, they would fit the PT. The wheels are only 17 in but they are 7 in wide, and my goal was to make my PT Cruiser appear wider to give it a more muscle look. I should have posted this in the wheels part of the forum, sorry about that.

I alway look up a member to determine their level of DIY. You know that very well. I also take note of who other members that respond on threads are.
As for the pictures, I am to bust to have to do multiple steps to look at pictures on a forum that most member by now would know how to post pictures on a forum other than attachments that require a separate step to view them. As I said on other forums the toleration for members doing that is low and generally now considered impolite on most others forums.
Thank you for taking the time to show this member how to post them!
