Default mystery wire right of column

Hi Cruisers. I have a mystery wire that I don't know what it goes to. Prevois owner was under there monkeying around and I spotted this and figured to ask the experts here. This is behind the panel access beneath the steering column. TKS Bart

1st....while we all may have some expertise to help other members noone I know of is clairvoyant to know what year and model PT Cruiser you have.
Maybe add a signature information to your user name?
So lets start with that. ^^^

General description of mystery connections found on many vehicles manufactured from 1995 and newer.
It is not uncommon to have connectors unused in vehicles. Wire harness usually for the production costs will accommodate all possible variation of components so installation of needed accessory harness is not needed.

Checking my wiring schematics, I see there is a white two wire connector located about there.
It is the 'brake transmission shift interlock solenoid connector'.
If it is this connector, the wire colors are white/pink and light green/black.

From what I read, this connector may be used only on export vehicles.

Sorry Guys. Its a 2001 and has a five speed. I just pulled a '' GPS Tracker '' thing out from under that area and not even sure what the heck it is. It wasn't hooked to anything but there are two wires that have black tape (I'm assuming that is where it was tied in at one time )

Any way, I spotted the mentioned wire while I was in there. I know sometimes manufacturers have extra wires for things on different models , most likely that is the case here. but I wanted to ask if you had come across this or knew of where it may go (if anywhere)

I believe Rob302's post pinned it down. As Bubba 1952 describes, it is there for some exported model reason.
