Default Bucking, jerking, cuting out, finally SOLVED

I was having this issue intermittently for a quite long time. Strangely it occurred mostly in the first hour of driving. I replaced a ton of parts with no cure. Here is a link to my post about that: What else can I do before I torch that thing
Then you guys suggested to replace the crankshaft sensor plug. I was skeptical. The plug looked OK to me. To be 100% sure, I decided to do it anyway. There was a lot of black insulating tape around the harness which was suspicious. As I was removing the tape, three red butt connectors came to light. The plug was already once replaced by someone. As I was undoing the rest of the tape, one of the wires broke loose. Upon inspecting the butt connector, it was apparent that only one side of the butt connector was crimped. The other side was not crimped and the wire was loose, giving an intermittent connection. I soldered the three wires on the new connector. I don't like to use crimp connectors on sensitive wiring. That solved it. You guys rock!

Nice story. Too bad all that electrical tape wasn't noticed when you first started trouble shooting. Someone did a half a.. job of patching the first sensor.

Glad to hear you got it fixed, too bad you had replaced so many other parts, before finding the problem was a $0.10 butt connector not properly installed.

I'm gonna check for this the next time I'm under my car in a couple days. I've got some light bucking, jerking and a tiny bit of cutting out occasionally during warm up.

Yes, too many do not ever let us know the outcome of their problem - they just disappear.

I had this symptom but just bucking/jerking at low speeds. It was the ignition coil. The old ignition coil tested within resistance specifications, so it appeared fine but it really had something wrong with it.
