Default Vibration under load

I'm getting a weird vibration while accelerating. I've replace the engine mounts and adjusted per service manual, still vibrates under load. I didn't change the transmission mount, are they known to go bad? I'm thinking wheel bearing or axle? Any ideas?

i left my torn trans mount and it never bugged me or caused anything noticeable. wheelbearing is a humming that changes loud to quiet as you swerve right to left.

i would swap the tires front to back and look at the control arm bushings, balljoints, and tie rod ends. for whatever reason yanking up and down on my tie rods they would move 1/8", but the normal procedure of rocking the tire by hand wouldn't show it. also check the axle nuts are tight and axles seem aok, and finally you might check the flexplate bolts and eye the flexplate for cracks.

a strange vibration doesn't give us much to go on. can you video it? do you feel it in your hands, feet, butt, etc..?

I feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel. When I left off the gas it smooths out. I replaced the lower control arms and sway arm bushings. I'm still getting a popping noise when going through a dip, It doesn't sound like a cv joint pop. Tie rod ends have a little play. I don't hear any weird noise when turning left or right.

This condition is normally axles of wheel bearing.

It can also be transmission Torque converter if you have a 41TE

The first thing to do is get the PT up in the air on a hoist/rack and inspect all the usual suspect.

the transmission mount are a compression design mount and seldom go bad.

Don't forget to take a look at the engine hub /balancer.

Engine hub balancer? I have a 2005 with auto, not sure the model of the trans. I'll jack it up tomoorow and check it out. It definetely feels like the passenger side though. Does the passenger side go out more often than the drivers side?

You have a A604/41TE automatic transmission.

There is not really a prediction or accurate percentage which axle on the PT last or fail sooner than the other.

I do recommend replacing it with a new axle should you find it to be needing replaced.
