Default switch question??

one question

will a key switch cause a no start? motor turns over and stutters then dies
checked spark and its getting spark when its cranking but still wont start even with starting fluid.

1.anyone ever had a crank with spark and no start ? I would think a bad key switch would not let it fire?could it still crank and fire with a bad key switch?

06 non turbo.

I would check to see if there is fuel pressure before changing the pump.

Are you getting a strong spark from all 4 cylinders?

I'm with Steve on this one. What color is that spark? If it's a kind of yellow/orange, then it's not hot enough. You need a nice blue/white one. Enough to knock you on your ass if you're not careful! Maybe a weak coil.

Look for trouble codes first. A bad SKIM, cam sensor or crank sensor will do this as well, but usually throw a code. Also, a slipped timing belt sometimes throws a cam and/or crank sensor code too. Weak fuel pressure will often throw a Lean Condition code. Slipped timing belt will often show a reduction in cylinder compression, but doesn't always throw codes.

ok sorry guys I been swamped here so its been setting..I bought a pressure guage and my fuel line unhooks on the left side back by the fire wall..I clamped the pressure guage on the line from the pump,,cause the kit didnt have a way to do it inline..
when i turned the key on it jumped up to 60lb..and stayed when cranking?

is this a ok way to test the pressure ? and is that about right?.

still cranks and sometimes a stutted but no start,,getting spark on all 4 cyl..
