Default Blue o-ring that came with the cam seal?

What's it for? Is it for some other model than mine and therefore not needed in my '02 2.4? Can't find a place where it might fit behind the cam seal. I know this is probably another one of my dumb newb questions but I would like the engine to be right when I finally get it together.

Thanks.

Is this the o-ring you are talking about? If so, it's for the cam sensor.

I have the thin o-ring for the cam sensor. The one that came with the seal (Fel-Pro TCS 45961) is more round in cross section. As I think about it I figure the seal and o-ring are for other engines as well as mine (2.4L) and for our engines it's not needed. So I'll ignore it and hope for the best.

Thanks for the picture and your response.

I still believe that's a cam sensor o-ring. Fel-Pro has a long history of providing round o-rings where the originals had square cross-sections. I thought I had an extra one to make sure, but I must have used it.

The black seal is seal that goes behind the camshaft sprocket when you do a timing belt change, but I'm sure you already know that.

This is what I saw in the Autozone description:
Package Contents: Camshaft Front Seal, Camshaft Position Sensor Seal
