Default Time for a stupid question!

I don't want to buy the wrong part. I've always assumed my car is non turbo. How can I know for sure? I know for sure it's 4 cylinders! And it doesn't go fast enough to be turbo but that doesn't mean it's non turbo, right?

On the edge of the drivers door is the VIN label, also in the left lower corner of the dash is the VIN tag. The 8th digit of the VIN is your engine code:

Since you have an NA the 8th digit will be B.

Here's an easy visual reference. Pop open your hood and take a peek at your engine. Compare it to SOOO BIG's engine which is a "non-turbo" engine. See Photo below.

If your engine looks like SOOO BIG's it's a non-turbo. Another give away is spark plug access. On a non-turbo engine the spark plugs are inaccessible without removing the intake manifold. They're accessible on a turbo engine.

I hope that helps.

Happy PTin', ptprice

I'm sorry ColTED but I find your comet to be WILDLY inaccurate!!! So much so that it borders on offensive!
It's a known fact that turtles live in the water some or nearly all of the time. I believe the word you were looking for was tortoise! Beyond that sadly I'd say your description was about spot on!

I find it pretty inaccurate also. Unless your at a drag strip and every 10th of a second counts, a decent running non-turbo will keep up with 99.9% of the traffic in any situation. It will cruise at any speed you set the control at legally or illegally. If your an imitation of Speed Racer, take it to the strip and let the rest of us enjoy what the cruiser is all about ....cruising. Beating the guy in the next lane to the next stoplight .......well, lets just say I have a fart can muffler I can sell you. It came off the last ricer that was driving too fast for his own good. The muffler was taken off and discarded in a pile of other fart cans and huge wings when his car was confiscated and then sold at auction.
