Default The beast runs again!

And of course a question arises. There seems to be a spare ground strap which I found under all the tools on the little shelf by the wipers. I assume it attaches to the firewall and engine.

Anyone have any idea where this goes? Does it matter that much?

Thanks.

If you just completed a timing belt job, the strap likely attaches to the bracket for the upper motor mount. And from there to the firewall.

All the grounds serve a purpose. Do you have a copy of the Service Manual? It will show you will all the grounds are.

Page 8W-9-1 starts with the ground locations followed by diagrams.

Thanks to both of you - very helpful. Also, I just noticed your Marine insignia, rckstein. Thank you for your service!

Now that this project is finally headed toward completion, looks like I'm going to have to buy another PT so I can keep up with you all.

Mine's for sale right now. Isn't it about time you had a turbo to play with?

Get behind me, Satan, and don't push! Yeah, now that you mention it, it is about time. But alas, as much as I would like one I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford it.

Thanks for the offer anyway, and by the way, whatever happened to that beer we were talking about?

I'd let any member on the forum take it for a grand. I turned down an offer of $900 a couple of days ago as I didn't like the guy and didn't think he'd take care of the car. Stupid, right? Anyway, I haven't made it to Winter Haven in a long time. I'll hit you up the next time I'm over that way.

No kidding - a grand? What year is it, what shape is it in, does it actually run, etc.?

Sold it yesterday, RVC. Neighbor came knocking on the door, took it for a test drive and made an acceptable offer. MORE than a grand that I would have taken. We're both happy with the deal.

Well, I'm glad for you. Guess a turbo will have to wait.
