Default Headlight and dash lights issue

So our '02 Cruiser has an issue. Neither the headlights nor the dash lights work. Brake lights and turn signals do. I looked at the fuses and they were good. Any thoughts?

Is your power locks also not working?

Does the engine start okay?

There is a "red wire with a white strip" connected to the "grey block #26" behind the fuse panel under the dash that might have failed. When this wire fails the headlights, dashlights, running lights and the door locks stop working.

Someone had fixed this issue by cutting both ends of the red/white wire from block #26 and solder new heavy gauge wire to red/white wire to bypass the block.

If you do find a bad wire behind the fuse block try taking a picture and post it. Thanks

Hmm, the wire to my #26 is white. It also seems very secure in there. Is there a trick to getting them out?

I would just check the wire for continuity.

There is a wire between the PDC (fuse block) under the hood that provides voltage for the head lights going to the fuse block under the dash- There was some comments made that this wire might not be heavy enough and breaks down over time.

The link below also shows a problem with a connector under the dash not making contact for the headlights.

This connector. C103 behind the fuse box caused my issue. If you aren't fat you can lay on your back and look up to see it. Simply wiggling it may give you light. In my case some idiot repaired it previously using too thin of wire and Spade connectors

The wire is long enough. Cut and solder. Do not add more wire

I have a whole no headlight thread here that will give you 85 other specific things to check can't see the road!

You guys are wonderful. I did find the issue and it is the red with white striped wire. Obviously it was an issue previously, as someone soldered it INTO the connector under the dash. Is there a good way to get it out with causing damage?

Edited to add, there is a crack in the wire very close to the solder - I don't have enough room to cut and solder a different wire.
