If having no heat is the only concern there is a good chance that there is air in the heater core.
The remedy is purging the cooling system.

There are many threads on this site with the specifics on how to accomplish that essential task.

Seems that is your situation, and a good next step.

I would suggest checking to see if you have air in the engine coolant system as JDK52 suggests. After the engine has cooled off take the radiator cap off and see if the coolant is up to the top. If not fill it up and see if you have heat. If you do have heat after filling it up you need to have an engine coolant pressure test to see if you have a leak if it has been a while since the timing belt has replaced.

When was the timing belt replaced?

DId they replace the thermostat? The thermostat can get damaged and not work properly after overheating.
