Default Suddenly no brake lights...

Brake lights suddenly don't work...

I was using a digital tester to find out which wire was live so I put the tester across the back of one of the bulbs in the overhead brake light on the back window. The light went on when the lady pushed the brake pedal for me... I put the tester probes on the wires, she pushed again... No lights now... No brake lights at all, upper or lower.. the fuse on a 2007 is I believe number 3, which is intact...

Anyone got any ideas please??

Sorted... The fuses on the online picture I found of the fuse box were misnumbered fuse 3 was where fuse 4 is in reality.

No fun working in a thunderstorm... Time for tiffin
rckstein and wingman55 like this.

i think i had my brake lights(could have been my turn signals) go out when my wiper fuse blew because the rear wiper motor was failing.. not 100% on that though. just bringing it up because you mention thunderstorm

should be a fuse inside on lower left side of dash, the center brake light is wired from the brake light switch, the right & left brake lights go through the multifunction switch

Sorry mate I missed this. Generation 2's don't have that - all the wiring is routed through the underbonnet fuse box. (I sorted my problem, the fuse had gone )
