Default Removal of Air Bag Cover?

Need help with reomoval of the air bag cover. I have gotten all the screws loose and removed the dash, but there is something holding the cover? Does anyone know what that might be. I looked in the Do It Yourself section and it mentioned something about a Restraint System????? I will go and buy a manual since I do this explore way too much, but for the meantime is there anyone who can help...!
Thanks...

To the best of my knowledge, the air bag cover is part of the air bag module. If you keep messing with it you're going to get a BIG poof and an expensive mess. If you're trying to paint it, buy one of the aftermarket covers and do whatever you want with it and mount it over the stock cover per instructions. The factory manual is the first assessory you should buy.

If you are messing with the airbag, make sure you have the battery disconnected and wait for about 20 minutes before working on it. On a mustang at least, the airbag system retains a charge for a while and this is the recommended procedure on them. Just be carefull.

Thanks for all you info so far. I have someone who can color match, but needs a piece to hold for a day or so... I know the airbag is touchy and I am taking all precautions and may take it to dealer for them to remove since it appears to be unknown what to do next as far as removal.

Send this guy an e mail he knows how to talke them off. I don't think it's a very good idea to take it off without knowing what to do. Pineapple said it's a ten minute job to remove the cover. This guy is a custom painter so he could do anything you want to the cover

Looks like there are some tabs left to pop off. Sounds simple. So I will try tonight! Wish me luck.
And the 10 min. job is right. It didn't take long to get to the point I am at right now. Just takin' my time..
