Default Make-up Air Filter Replacement Part Number?

I recently purchased a 2010 PT Cruiser and noticed the Make-up Air Filter is looking a bit worse for wear (the sponge is black and coming apart).

I was surprised the 2010 has the filter, because I thought it was for early PTs and/or Turbos, but the little sponge under the main engine air filter certainly IS there.

Is there a Part number for this Make-up Filter?
Most online car sites have nothing for this.

The closest thing I saw was a "breather" filter at auto zone with one have part number BF2310DL. However, the site says it doesn't fit my 2010 PT.

MOPAR has a "Engine Crankcase Breather Element" for 2007 PT with part number 05066076AA. It looks like a white sponge, but I'm not sure of the size.

Is the Engine Crankcase Breather Element the SAME as the Make-up Filter under the air filter? What part should I get for my 2010 PT?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum

The part number you listed is correct for the part, however it is no longer available from MOPAR. There are some sources on Ebay:

https://m.ebay.com/itm/5066076AA-NON...%257Ciid%253A1

Some sources on EBay are selling these for as much as $45!

When searching for it, you can search with a 0 in the front or not.

When you get a chance please go to the Welcome New PT Cruiser Members section and create an intro thread

There was one dealership on EBay that offered a 3 pack of the filters for around $14, so I got a couple spares for later as I plan on having my PT for a few more years.

I had the same need for a Neon we got over the summer. I ended up scrounging some open cell polyurethane foam. What I found was relatively thin sheet, so I cut several pieces and packed them into the air filter holder. Another option might be to cut a foam lawnmower air filter to size.
