Default Air intake difference 2010 & 01 thru 09 n/a

Noticed some low dollar cold air intakes on Amazon, but, all say for 01 thru 09 PTís. Did Chrysler really change the intake for the final year or was it an update to the 2.4 n/a in general? E-mailed one of the sellers who answered that the 2010 was a different system. Any one know?

No, I don't know but seriously doubt it. I don't recommend one anyway because they're a total waste of money. You'll probably notice a drop in your mpg's because you'll be putting your foot in it more just to hear the "cool sound" the CAI produces. Actually , the warmer the air is in your throttle body, the better the vaporization of the fuel you get. Do some research.

LOL I know they are nothing but sound machines and will not get you a 7 to 12 hp increase. Like the little electric devices that you can plug in or splice in that will give you, with the flip of a switch, max mpg or a 50% increase in horsepower! Yeah, right!!

No, I was just wondering if there was a difference in the 2010 since I have one. I just could not see it happening.

By the way chuzz, I'm old school from back when cars were mechanical, not the computer operated junk they are today and, hopefully, I won't be around long enough to see the over sized batteries they will become.

This is the one I got for my 02 PT.

BLACK Short Ram Air Intake Kit + Filter For 01-09 PT Cruiser 2.4L L4 N/A | eBay

Heh, heh, all real hot rods have chrome air cleaners.

Plus it opens up some space in the engine compartment.

Hard to believe it won't fit a 2010 model.

There is no difference on the last year N/A intake manifold from prior years. I did the air box mod with a 3 inch snorkel and it does breath better........ thru a stock paper filter. Pulls cooler air than what you are looking to do. Cost a whole $12..... round adapter at Autozone and 3 inch PVC elbow at Lowes. There is a write up in this site.

The only reason I'd get one is for the opening up of some space under the hood. If I wanted to hear the car I put a nice exhaust system on it.

Is Thrush still around? I once had a 67 Cougar and I put a Thrush Bullet muffler on it. No car I ever owned ever sounded better, at freeway speed, at night the exhaust just did this 'mellow' growl and everyone who ever rode in the car just loved it.

This is where the noise outback comes from on my 05 PT Conv.

We now have the back half of the Heartthrob duals kit installed after cutting off the supplied upswept exhaust tips and adding more traditional pencil tips.
