Cheap way to add horsepower?

I think weight does make a huge difference. My friends mini weighs 500 lbs less than mine, but has 30 hp less than mine, and he would still smoke me.

If you find the equation for horsepower or torque to road it asks for the weight of the car, how far you drove and how fast you got there.

If the car weighs less IT WILL MAKE YOUR CAR FASTER! Period, Hands down.

Look at it this way. Its easier to run a mile carring a popcan than it is to run a mile carring that same popcan with lead in it.

its a power:weight issue.

But..... ITS A PT.. is it really worth the heartache and stress for a few pounds on a daily driver? No. Like i said before. If you want a little more go for a race. Kick your friends out of the car, drop the rear seats out, lose the sparetire and jack. and go have some fun.

Weight does play in big, look at motorcycles. A Honda Ninja crotch rocket has maybe 120 HP, and weighs maybe 500 pounds. It will go 0-60 in under six seconds, and can go in upwards of speed of 150MPH. Don't mess with carbon fiber, a lot of money for maybe 10 less pounds. Keep with the intake, and just a new muffler, and you're going to be pleased right away.

lol all of my friends like my cruiser. it is so funny though, cause when we would go to lunch, (freshmen year) my mom would have to drive...which was a little strange but oh well we got there and ate [] We were able to fit 11 people in there, one of which was in the trunk lol. I just talked to one of my freinds, just bought himself a new car. 98 honda civic. The PT gets respect around here though, I've got a friend with a civic that likes it, a friend wit ha truck that likes it, and a friend with a benz that likes it lol. Well when he turns 16 he is getting a benz (his dad owns a used car lot, and they are filthy rich lol) So right now he rides in a caddy. But I don't get any complaints about the PT at all.
